11. Juli – Update Apocalypse Now!

Nach über einem Monat Pause gibt's heute endlich mal wieder ein Update der CFMD-Homepage! Allzu üppig ist es wieder nicht ausgefallen, aber wir denken, dass es sich trotzdem sehen lassen kann.
Die Festivalsaison ist im vollen Gange und das nächste Großevent für die Knüppel- und Röchelszene steht vor der Tür. Die Rede ist natürlich vom OBSCENE EXTREME FESTIVAL in Tschechien. Obwohl die CFMD-Crew nicht dort anwesend sein wird, gibt's heute einen kleinen Festivalvorbericht vom OEF 2010.

Außerdem möchten wir Eure Aufmerksamkeit auf ein neues Festival richten, das im September in Kopenhagen über die Bühne gehen wird und welches in erster Linie für alle AnhängerInnen des Old School Underground Death Metals interessant sein dürfte. Es handelt sich dabei um das KILL-TOWN DEATH FEST, von dem wir ebenfalls ein paar Infos für Euch parat halten.

Seit einer halben Ewigkeit haben wir außerdem endlich mal wieder ein paar Pics für Euch an den Start gebracht. Entstanden sind die (wenigen) Schnappschüsse beim GTNS FESTIVAL 2010. Von uns geknipst wurden u.a. ATTACK OF THE MAD AXEMAN, MEINHOF, INSTINCT OF SURVIVAL und noch ein paar andere Herden.

An der Lyricsfront werden heute die Texte des neuen MISERY INDEX-Albums aufgetischt. Die Band hatte eigentlich schon immer was zu sagen und so ist es auch diesmal wieder. Lesen schadet daher überhaupt nichts. Außerdem haben wir natürlich die Events aktualisiert und auch bzgl. der aktuellen Onlinereviews hat sich wieder so einiges getan. - CEPHALIC CARNAGE: New album out in August!
Denver, Colorado-based technical death/grind metallers CEPHALIC CARNAGE have set "Misled By Certainty" as the title of their new album, due on August 31 via Relapse Records. The follow-up to 2007's "Xenosapien" was recorded at the band's own studio with longtime engineer/producer Dave Otero. The CD is described in a press release as a "50-plus-minute journey into metal's most extreme realms" which "see[s] these veterans takes it to edge before pulling it back with 'Repangea', perhaps their most sprawling and epic work to date." Check out the cover artwork below. CEPHALIC CARNAGE will take part in this year's Summer Slaughter Tour alongside DECAPITATED, THE FACELESS, ALL SHALL PERISH, THE RED CHORD and more. CEPHALIC CARNAGE's last full-length album, "Xenosapien", was released in May 2007 via Relapse Records. The CD was recorded by the band and Dave Otero at their studio in Denver. - EXHUMED: Return From The Grave!
Gore-metal originators EXHUMED have reformed after a five–year hiatus. EXHUMED 2010 will feature founding and original member Matt Harvey on guitars and vocals along with returning members Leon DelMuerte (PHOBIA, MUDER CONSTRUCT) on bass and vocals, Wes Caley (UPHILL BATTLE) on guitars, and Danny Walker (INTRONAUT, MUDER CONSTRUCT, UPHILL BATTLE) on drums. The band will begin recording a new full-length and follow-up album to 2003’s Anatomy Is Destiny this fall for a spring 2011 release. Harvey recently commented on the reformation; ""I'm totally fucken psyched to be making music with Exhumed again, it's been way too long. After a few years off and away from the Death Metal scene, I feel rejuvenated and ready to hack, maim and kill once again. I wanted this to be a continuation of what the band was doing and was on its way to doing, not a reunion or some weird nostalgia thing, so the first person I started talking about this with was our guitarist Wes (Caley), who has been writing some great songs for the new album, and once he got the ball rolling with Leon (DelMuerte, bass, vocals) and Danny (Walker, drums), it come together quickly and easier than ever!”. “We've been writing for the past few months, me in Hawaii , and the other guys in California , and now that I'm back on the mainland we'll be getting things together for album number four. - FDA REKOTZ: Labelnews!
Es gibt Zuwachs im Hause FDA Rekotz. Die mexikanische old school Death Metal Maschine OMINOUS CRUCIFIX ( http://www.myspace.com/ominouscrucifix ) konnte für 3 kommende Veröffentlichungen via FDA Rekotz gewonnen werden. Den Anfang macht im Spätherbst eine MCD. Fans von frühen ASPHYX, BOLT THROWER oder der "Lost Paradise" Scheibe, sollten die Augen und Ohren offen halten!!
Am 15.Juli erscheint, nach 21 Jahren Abstinenz, das damals in den USA erschienene, legendäre erste Album des deutschen Grind/Death Urgesteins BLOOD. "Impulse To Destroy" wird wie damals auf Vinyl erscheinen, limitiert sein auf 500 Exemplare, von denen 150 schlachtfeldrot, 50 rot/schwarz marmoriert und 300 pechschwarz sind ! Zu hören gibt es derbsten Grindcore aus den Anfangstagen, empfehlenswert für Leute, die auf Napalm Death's "Scum" abfahren.
Das Album der Schwedentod Formation ENTRAILS hat eingeschlagen, wie eine Bombe ! FDA Rekotz hat sich daher dazu entschlossen, auch eine Vinylversion zu veröffentlichen. Diese erscheint am 17.11.2010, anlässlich zum Minitour-Auftakt der Schweden. Die ersten 3 der insgesamt 4 Dates stehen bereits.

- GENERAL SURGERY: Have a message for you!
The 20th year celebration of the Necrology EP goes on and we have decided to perform it in its entirety at Obscene Extreme Festival for all you demented splatterfreaks out there. This is only the second time this has happened, and will most likely be the last for a long time so don't miss out!
The Obscene Extreme crew has asked us for a short meet and greet session and of course we are down with that. Immediately after our set (21.35 - 22.35 on Thursday July 15th) we will set up next to the stage and we will be there for an hour or so. Still working on the ETAE - discography LP. The band didn’t send in artwork and the masters yet but we are getting there. Thanks to Yoshi for the translation and help. For late summer (maybe September for Zoro fest) I hope to have a new HERÄTYS 7inch ready. They were so good at Punk Illegal and i am super happy they asked me to do a 7inch. Watch out for their last LP (on notenough.se) and for live shows, they are a damn riper. For later this year (~November) I work on a new LP and tour for my Japanese tomodatchi CRUDE and also this autumn/winter i am stoked to release a new VICTIMS album. It will not be called killer again but it definitely will be killer. Some more reissues and maybe some new releases are on my list too but step by step. Statement from LOOKING FOR AN ANSWER: "Really bad news from LFAA, due seriously personal problems of one of us we are forced to cancel the OEF show and the rest of the tour dates, we're absolutely fucked up about that but there's no alternative, we took a really hard decision, we can't do the tour while one of us are involved into a hard and painful personal situation. Last year Stormcrow and Coffins laid waste to the West Coast of the United States on a 10 day tour culminating in both bands appearing at the Los Angeles Murderfest. During the tour the mutual admiration both bands already held for one another was permanently forged in steel and a split release was conceived and agreed upon. Side A features a single track from Oakland’s Stormcrow, their longest ever clocking in at massive 13 minutes. “Path To Defeat” is a song Stormcrow were playing in a less developed form on last year’s tour and finally got into the studio where it was given the Earhammer treatment by Greg Wilkinson of Laudanum/Brainoil and Salvador Raya of Asunder. A monolithic combination of the heavy crust they are beloved for, classic death metal and a creeping, omnipresent doom vibe. The Coffins side starts with new track “The Black Fog Of Burning Flesh”, a song that would fit perfectly with the abominations on their 2008 LP “Buried Death”.
