CFMD: At first please let us know why you changed the name of the band from Wolfpack to Wolfbrigade. I heard it had something to do with a fucked up swedish nazi organisation also called Wolfpack. Is that right?
WOLFBRIGADE: Hi CFMD-readers! Yes, that was the reason. A criminal nazi organisation took the name Wolfpack and we didn´t feel that we wanted to be taken for that Wolfpack, so we changed the name. Some might say lame, but that was what we choose to do.

CFMD: How and when was Wolfpack/Wolfbrigade born? What was the inspiration to form a band and what happened to the band until today (gigs, line-up, releases...)?
WOLFBRIGADE: The band was formed summer of ´95. The line-up was Jocke (guitar), Erik (guitar), Marcus (bass), Frank (drums) and Jonsson (vocals). In ´98 we changed the singer to Micke and just before our 2002 Germany/Netherlands/CZ-tour we changed the drummer to Dadde. So the line-up today is: Jocke (guitar), Erik (guitar), Marcus (bass), Micke (vocals) and Dadde (drums). It feels really good. We´ve made 3 tours in Europe (except for the countries we have already mentioned we have also played in Poland,England,Denmark,Norway etc.) and one USA tour. We have also done gigs around Sweden and bigger festivals like "Fuck The Commerce" and "Hultsfred". I guess the reason we formed the band was everyday boredom. Records so far: "Bloodstained Dreams"-MCD, "A New Dawn Fades"-CD, "Hellhound Warpig"-7", "Lycanthro Punk"-CD/LP, Split-7"with Skitsysytem, "Allday Hell"-LP/CD, Split-7"with Audio Kollaps, "Progression/ Regression"-LP/CD.

CFMD: Some months ago you released your new album "Progression/Regression". Are you satisfied with the final product and your new label Farewell Records?
WOLFBRIGADE: Farewell Records rules, but we actually made the "Allday Hell" album there as well, before "Progression...". About the new record: good songs, bad sound quality.

CFMD:What are your musical influences/fave bands and where do you get the inspiration for your lyrics?
WOLFBRIGADE: Musical influences: everything and anything, from Elvis to Napalm Death. Lyrical inspiration: personal and political struggle, read the lyrics and you get the picture.

CFMD: What do you think about the Swedish HC/Punk scene? What bands, zines, labels you´d care to recommend? If you compare the "old" scene in Sweden with the "new" one, what has changed?
WOLFBRIGADE: The scene is getting better and better. One thing that sucks though is the lack of venues. Good bands: Victims, Acursed, Bitter Harvest, Tristess, Imperial Leather, Abductee S.D., To What End? (with Micke, Dadde and Jocke from Wolfbrigade + Elenor, the girl who sings on 2 songs on "Progression..."), Sunday Morning Einsteins (with Jocke and Dadde and people from Svart Snö, Acursed etc.) and more. Loads of good bands. Compared with the "old days" the scene is way more political and more girls are getting involved these days, which is positive.

CFMD: Where are the best places for concerts in Sweden? What kind of audience do you have? Are there any fights or shit like this at concerts?
WOLFBRIGADE: No fights. There are fights in maybe 1 out of 20 shows. Kafe 44 and Fullersta in Stockholm are the best places for concerts in Sweden. Hamnmagasinet in Umea is also good. Our audience is really varieted. Everything from crusties, hardcore kids, stud punks to sharp skins and metal heads. I think it´s cool that we reach so many different kinds of people.

CFMD: You guys also toured in the USA. What were the most interesting impressions and what are the main differences between the HC/Punk scenes in the USA and here in Europe?
WOLFBRIGADE: There are hardly any "real" venues! We played in pizzerias and boxing rings when we were over!

CFMD: What do you think about the terror acts in the USA on september the 11th last year?
WOLFBRIGADE: It´s always sad when innocent people die/get killed, but to be honest, it didn´t come as a surprise, the tables turn, that´s a fact. The USA have been threating people like shit over the last couple of decades.

CFMD: What are your opinions about the social/political situation in Sweden today?
WOLFBRIGADE: At least here in Stockholm there is a big problem with houses and a lot of homeless people. It hurts to see them and you can´t really do shit. All government property is being sold to private rich bastards. Even the private cared health care goes for profit, which fucking sickens me. Profit should never go before health.

CFMD: Did you ever had problems with nazi bastards or any other narrow minded bullshit like this?
WOLFBRIGADE: Unfortunately yes. People have got killed. We hear about stuff like that all the time. On ocassions they have attacked shows and stabbed people. No punks killed so far. We played a show in Stockholm when 5 punks got stabbed, Micke got a baseball bat in his head and mased, Dadde got kicked in the stomach and mased, instead of getting stabbed. So we definitely have a problem, but this has only made us stronger, we have a stronger resistance against those assholes now.

CFMD: Future plans? When will we see you live in Germany again?
WOLFBRIGADE: We made 4 gigs in Germany during october. There are no concrete plans on returning anytime soon, but as always, we will. To What End? (with 3 of us) will do a couple of shows in february though, so keep your eyes/ears open. New recording before the year is over that will come out on a 12"/CD on Feral Ward. We have also been talking about touring Finland and the USA again, but nothing´s set yet. "New" records: "Back in time: Recording from the Wolfpack era"-10"on Farewell, out any day now. "A New Dawn Fades" will be re-issued on Feral Ward, "Lycanthro Punk" will be re-issued on Deranged.

CFMD: Thanks a lot fot the interview! Any last wordsgreetings, comments? This space is yours...
WOLFBRIGADE: Thanks a lot for the space in your zine!
