[ Repuked ]

REPUKED aus Elchcountry sind der (!) derzeitige Killer in Sachen punkig-old schooligem Todesblei und diese kleinen schwedischen Perverslinge, die vor kurzem mit ihrem Debütalbum „Pervertopia" (ha!) ihre Aufwartung machten, klingen tatsächlich ungefähr so, als hätte man AUTOPSY, ABSCESS, MURDER SQUAD, PUNGENT STENCH und REPUGNANT (unter erheblichem Einfluss von Alkohol, Drogen und Zombiefilmchen) zusammen mit dem verrotteten Leichnam von GG ALLIN in den Proberaum eingesperrt und ein paar Böller hinter geschmissen! Ohne Scheiß, der absolute Wahnsinn! In diesem Sinne: Repukalypse Now! 1. Hey Nicke, you fucking vomit warrior! How are you? How is Swedish winter at the moment? Cold, grim and frostbitten? Haha! Oh, wait, that was Norwegian style...

-Huhuuu...yO Chris!! I'm fucking sober man..it sucks, i need to go to the toilet and it's laundrynight and everything. Uh, i need to get me some of that white whine i hide in the closet..i mean Jim Beam of course, hehe...so i can stand going down to the filthy disgusting basement and put my vomitfilled panties in the washingmachine. I think i'm out of washing powder also. Bummer.. This is extreme death metal style to the core, I promise you that!! Ultra death metal swedish lifestyle. Ugrghhh it's cold as ice outside. Yellow snow and shit everywhere. So you could say that everything is pretty normal here in good old Sweden.

2. Well, as far as I followed your updates on your facebook page (yeah, hip, isn't it?), you seem to be quite satisfied with your reviews yet. But did you get feedback from other countries beside from Germany? Either the other countries don't listen to good music or you are hiding the bad reviews from your fans, haha! Gimme a short overview about the reactions on your dirty oldschool piece of fucking vomiting death fucking metal!

-The reviews smells like my feet. And i like it! Of course we hide the bad reviews. We can actually delete all the bad reviews from the internet just by enter a password. The password is....piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip....! Some dude in Poland wrote us and said we were fucking pornstars over there and we got some emails from various drunk people. Overall people in the genre seem to think our shit is pretty decent. We are definitely gonna continue vomiting the shit we do, cant have it any other way. And if someones likes the shit, it’s a fukin bonus.

3. Let's do the time warp and go back to the beginning! REPUKED is a relatively young band. Formed in 2007 "Pervertopia" is your first full-length. So tell me how everything began and which stations were most important in the short history of REPUKED. For example what's the favorite brand of beer for the band?

-Rob and i played in a band called Mizzfoster, some crazy shitty punk/grind/death/2 riffs a song kind of music and then we farted ways with the drummer and felt that we wanted to play some Autopsy/Abscess/Murder Squad, (but worse of course), influenced nasty funky punk/death metal. Searched the graves for a drummer and suddenly the Tobuyass just laying there looking all dead and shit so Rob touched him and asked if he wanted to sit behind the drums and yep the trio Repuked was formed. The swedish folköl is the favourite. Brands are not important here. It's just about the folköl! We like beer and more beer and then even some more! Folköl is like a glass of piss with carbonic acid! We like that sheisse every day!

4. "Excremental Funeral", "Vomitfilled Baptism", both releases on CDr, right? But then you decided to let both of your demos be re-released on a compilation tape called "Repukalypse Now!". Well, that's pretty oldschool, haha! I always thought the go'od tape has died out. Why did you choose this uncomfortable and ancient medium to get both demos re-released? And do you know what? I just ordered my first tape in aeons, it was "Repukalyspe Now!"! Hopefully it arrives soon...

-Nice buy my friend! You will be disappointed. hehe. Uh don't worry it's a nice tape!! Well, Robert over at Psycho records and Rob seem to be "close friends" and after some dirty deeds, Psycho records decided to release the demos and a new song called Pissbomb. Cassette is old school as hell and i guess we wanted to feel a bit old so there you go.We are pretty old now as we speak but you always want to be older.... Repukalypse Now! made me shit my pants twice when i got it. All wrapped in plastic/condom material! And the artwork is über alles!!

5. My heart beats like a drum when I see "Pervertopia" was released on vinyl as well. I can imagine that this idea was yours, right? But Soulseller Records seem to be a great fan of this medium as well. Did you choose them because of their affinity to the ancient way and their similar bands like Maim or earlier Stench? Or was there no other option for releasing your debut? Are you satisfied with your cooperation? I think especially the promotion of your album was quite good when I read the bulk of reviews...

-Your heart beats.. I came in my pants.. Vinyl is the ultimate format for music. Maybe not the easiest one (switching sides is not very easy if you're totally wasted) but it's the best sounding one for sure! And when we got the chance to release it on vinyl, it's like a little dream leaking down the pants. Absolutely one of the things on Repukeds to do list. We actually received emails from a few different labels. So we got some choices. It was everything from just a Lp release to a release only on cassette so that was a nice outside the body experience to sit and choose between labels. When Soulseller records asked if we wanted to release Pervertopia on both cd and lp the masturbating was over. It just felt right for Repuked so we jumped on the pukin train. And even if we're in the beginning of this release, i think it's going great. Jorn and Soulseller is doing one helluva job to help us with this. Jorn is the man! Yeah i think we got 14 reviews so far and maybe more to come so i couldn't agree more. Cheers to the ones writing reviews and that people have an opinion ,good or bad, about the stuff we do in our pissy “do it yourself studio”!

6. On your demos it is obvious, the oldschool cartoon styled drawings as artwork. On your album those sketches are more subtile because of some photoshop-help: slight gradients and some grunge look and everything seems to be more "serious", haha! Who draws your covers? I think all artworks were done by one person?

-Rob and Li did the democovers and the Repukalypse Now cover i think. Maybe i'm wrong on this one. But i think they're both involved in doing the drawings for those three. They also did artwork for the Pervertopia album. They've got sick and twisted minds for sure. hehe. But it really fits on a piece of paper and on our covers. Cheers for the twisted! The Pervertopia cover was made by Joe Ravenger at Ravenger Artworks. Really great stuff!

7. As hopefully every-fucking-body knows: There is a genius video for the titletrack of your full-length on youtube. I really love as well the song as the clip, as the spectator can see how much fun you had while playing the song and recording the fucking video. I love how you drink beer, do the mini-playback-show and do everything, but not take things to serious. When I take a look at your homepage and some band pictures, REPUKED seem to have a lot of humor and take back the fun into funeral, haha! If you are to drunk to understand this "question": First tell me about the fucking video and than your infantile humor, haha!

-Well the white wine..hrmhmrm..Jim Beam i mean… and lack of washing powder has certainly got into my mind by now.. The video is truly magnificent and hilarious. We had a blast recording that masterpiece. The lipsync parts that is about one half second late or early everytime is perfect. Hiding behind snowy trees and shooting pool and toiletscenes. It's made in a funny way but we're not unserious about the music we make. Dead serious about that! hehea…We like to to do the shit and we might as well show it. We like alcohol also. But i think we got some nice pics standing in a cavelikeplace. On the wall behind us someone wrote, Love -94. Kär -94 in Swedish. I think that’s pretty much deathpunkmetal! haha. The video really got us some new fans for sure, and some people maybe think we're even more of an unserious shitty wannabedeathmetalpunk scoffing at the genre band...

8. But on the other side: Cliches are verrrry important! You won't leave home without your leather jacket, will you? Do you still have a kutte/jeans vest with hell-of-a-lot of patches? That would be even more trve. By the way, I want some fucking REPUKED-Patch! Were can I order?

-Repuked is true to the bone! Of course i wouldn't leave my apartment. I sleep in my urinated shitted leather pin jacket. But the vest i usually only wear when i'm in the toilet. It's like that robe some gentlemen only wears when they smoke cigars except i only wear the vest while shitting. But i'll probably use it for some future gigs to ensure that musty poo smell! I think there will be som patches soon actually. We're releasing a 7" ep and that one comes with a patch as far as i know.

9. Did you notice? We entered the ninth question of this shitty interview, but we did rarely talk about the music on your latest release? Well, I think everybody should own a copy of "Pervertopia" which means words are unnecessary. But I can imagine that there are some ignorant retards who did not even listened to this little masterpiece of punky olschool death metal! Shame on them! So let's consider there are some of this heretics among my readers and talk a bit about the records. I really love how you deal with the vocals! Everybody of REPUKED is allowed to place some vokills, vomit, grunts, pitch-shifted cheers to his mum onto your songs. You mix between ancient Swedish death metal as well as dirty punk attitude and some nice own influences. So this question is again a two step challenge: Tell me about the greatest influence on "Pervertopia" and make some advertisement for your record, why should everybody have a copy at home?

-Huhuu..punky funky! It's available for download everywhere so just download it and listen! Buy 17 beers. Drink it. Puke it. Eat some leftover pizza. It's good for you! Well about everyone having their own singingparts i think you can blame Rob. He came up with that idea and i must say it's a familybag of chips. I like! We all sing very different as you noticed and i think that's something to take advantage of. The songs get more various that way. Still i can't play and sing at the same time so that makes things more exciting on gigs and rehearsals. :) But i'll drink to that! Influences are probably all the stuff we do and things we've done during the week/month/year or so... Various bands, alcohol,pizza,toilets,puke,movies....you name it. It's all there! And mr Chris Reifert of course. His shit is the shit fifteen times around. When Rob and i met him at the Hole in the sky festival in Norway last summer everything else just is a blur compared. Shit, what a nice guy for being the all time deathmetal/punk god that he is. I couldn’t say a word being the total retard I am so I just stood there, but Rob talked about Repuked and our other band Necroskank and probably one million other things! I'll drink with him again for sure even if i were stuck in the toilet forced to amputate both my ass just to get that beer. Everyone should get the Pervertopia CD/LP because we need the cash. 10. Let's praise narcissism! What are your favorite REPUKED tracks? Never mind if they where on the demos or on the album, just tell me.

-Hard question but i like it hard! huhu. On the first demo it's Wormdrenched, on the second it's Putrid womb festering and on Pervertopia it's Morgue of whores, just because we had recorded the drums and guitar and suddenly we decided to change the mainguitarriff but we kept the drums. So it's not the song that it was supposed to be from the start. Just some improvising and it turned out great! My absolute fave tracks: Feral fuck and Coffinscratching, previously unreleased but they will turn up on an ep further on. So keep an browneye on that one!

11. I'm not sure if you noticed, but there is a slight, little, itsy-bitsy "oldschool" wave going on nowadays. You know, old bands come back, releasing their first albums in history like Evocation, reform after almost 20 years like Desultory or just think: "Yeah, oldschool death metal! That's simple to play, let's start a new band". What do you think about this new trend? I mean if I was mean I could call REPUKED "hipster", haha! But no way, your music is way to dirty for most listeners of "mainstream retro death metal" (; Do you have any favorite bands within this "new" movement?

-Oh shit, did you notice that giant wave also!??!?!!! Surf's up dude! I just drowned... hehe. I think it's awesome actually. Bands reforming after long shutdown periods..People just making good music.
Here is some great shit anyway.. Morbus Chron, Necrowretch, Herpes, Bonesaw, Obliteration and every other band out there! But i'm happy to mention them again. That's some filthy death metal for you folks to check out. Nödvärn is a punkband so they don’t fit in to the old school death new metal thing but they are truly puking. Thanks for the pukeparty gig! 12. Did you have to answer a lot of interviews for "Pervertopia"? Or maybe before? Now here is your one and only opportunity, tell me the question you always wanted to be asked - and answer it for me and my readers!

-Nope, none yet actually...i think. Oh yeah btw we got one interview about two weeks ago. But it wasn't just about Pervertopia. A lot of other interesting things also. So i guess we did have one. And before that we have had about 5-7 interviews in different zines and stuff. It's always a pleasure to receive an interview. In the latest Close-Up issue nr 128, Rob did a telephone interview. That's pretty serious. It turned out they only talked about Rob writing lyrics while pumpin the job toilet. Pretty funny reading!! 6/6 horses! We like!
Question: Please make me a poodessert? Answer: Do you want cream on top or on the side?.

13. So, let's get back to obligatory stuff: What will REPUKED's future bring for your fans? New stuff on 7"? Split-stuff? Some touring in Germany and the rest of Europe? Another full-length in 2012?

-Absolutely a tour through Europe and Germany definitely. We are ready to meet the puke!!
We are gonna release a split 7" with Haemophagus. Also releasing an EP 7" on Singapore label Slap Bet Records. And we are featured on two tribute albums, one Regurgitate and one Impetigo. So there is some more Repuked shit coming right at you later this year. And hopefully gigs all around. A new full-length is coming for sure but we don't really know when. So we can't say 2012, maybe 2013?

14. Yeah, very seldom, but we reached the lucky number 13 in questions - time to stop the interview and to say goodbye, Nicke. Thanks for your time and answer!
